Our Rich Banking Service History

Home About Our History

Citizens Saving Bank has always took pride in serving and being a part of its local communities. This small town community bank has been in operation for over 100 years! Starting as a private institution in 1908 under the name of Citizens Bank, it would later be changed to Citizens Savings Bank in 1918 when it became incorporated. The original officers of the bank were C.J. Weiser (President); R. Algyer (Vice President) and Adolph Novak (Cashier). The bank was one of the few in the area that were able to keep operating during the fragile times of the depression.

In 1946 they would expand to the neighboring community of Fort Atkinson, opening a branch in the heart of the town. Throughout the years the bank has prospered and become a staple in the communities it serves. In the Spring of 2014 Citizens Savings Bank continued to grow on its rich history by opening a branch in the neighboring community of Protivin. The success of the bank is credited to the number of dedicated customers, employees and board members throughout the years along with the continued support from the communities!
